Veperformance was formed in 2007 to build a viable electric alternative. Our primary focus is on drivetrain efficiency and so we decided to build our own.

As a result we have developed a highly efficient electric motor that is better adapted to automotive requirements. We have designed our drivetrain with adaptability in mind so it could be used with a very wide variety of vehicles. Our versatile power management that we implemented in the motor control unit gives the driver, economy, power on demand and safeguards to protect the battery pack lifespan.

All aspect of energy waste where considered to convert a gas guzzler to a highly efficient electric vehicle. From the household 110v source that recharge the battery pack to the motor, all inefficiencies where evaluated in order to get the most out of our energy resources. The challenge with a fully electric driven production vehicle of larger size is not 100MPGe, it is the practical range without restricting functionality, features and comfort. Affordability was also put in the equation to make the project realist and marketable.

Our team is composed of Andre Beaulieu the main instigator of the project, Eric Nadeau designer of our patent pending technology, Jean Pierre Beaulieu experienced in manufacturing sector, Diane Couture in administrative tasks, Real Turcotte with strong education background taking care of public relations, Vincent Guevremon is specialized in industrial electric motor and controls, Angelo D'Anello a diversified business man is passionate by cars and likes innovations, Michel Dionne is our machinist and his dedication to quality of work is outstanding. The X PRIZE has brought exciting goals and activities that enhances the project experience for all of us.

Our current prototype developed on a 1989 GTA Transam will not be used for the competition, instead we will take a full sized in production vehicle that will best represent actual domestic use. The current prototype will be outfitted with lithium batteries in its last phase of development before we prepare our official X PRIZE vehicle. Our prototype will be fully documented when we finish the last phase of endurance testing.
