Maxi-Eco’s history began in 1973 after the first oil crisis resulted in the war between Iran and Iraq, where the price of oil shot up. The Maxi-Eco team began to study the operation of automobile engines and their performance, which in time was 10% of the energy of gasoline, a number significantly lower. In the following years we studied all types of engines, technical characteristics, income, fuel, etc. and have subsequently developed dozens of models that have been abandoned after tests results. However, these tests led us to discover all the loss of energy in the engine combustion cycle OTTO today, and we began a search which is another form could be developed drawing up the virtues and changing the points of greatest loss of engines namely the piston and control valve.
In 1996, finally came the concept of AXIAL engine current base engine. In 2004 the first engine was assembled that worked in practice and is enhanced by the performance of today reaching more than 60%.
Maxi-Eco adopted FLEX technology using Gasoline and/or Ethanol (as a renewable fuel). Ethanol is already established in the automotive markets like Brazil where its consumption represents 50% of vehicle fleet. Its solution is easy to manage and implement in all marketing around the world (no huge investments needed).
The Progressive Insurance Automotive X PRIZE appeared in the right moment to show the world this technology, which we believe will be useful to all mankind as our objectives.
