At the moment the Gomecsys team is developing the Progressive Insurance Automotive X PRIZE GoEngine as a global solution to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emission with 50% and reduce cost of the engine at the same time. Currently the team is working flat out designing this complete new super efficient engine. The X PRIZE GoEngine has to be production ready in 2010 and developing this engine is the main focus of the company.

We started our company 11 years ago specifically to develop fuel saving engine technology. The last ten years have been with ups and downs. Since 2007, we are developing our second generation VCR GoEngine technology. The new generation solves all the problems we had with the first generation and increases overall engine efficiency significantly.

Our entry for the Progressive Automotive X PRIZE is a showcase for our engine technology, therefore we have picked an existing car that we are already using to demonstrate our technology in a 4 cylinder engine. The Mercedes C class is a save and good looking car that everybody loves to drive.

To meet the extreme fuel consumption target of 100 MPGe we have to develop a complete new 2 cylinder GoEngine with the latest developments.

The car will be left as it is to show the potential of the Internal Combustion Engine for decades to come. We target to increase engine PART LOAD EFFICIENCY to the level of 35%.

One of the biggest advantages of our engine concept is that it is not expensive. We expect a 25% lower production cost of the 2 inline GoEngine concept when compared to a modern 4 cylinder engine.
