Revolution Through Competition

Belloso Motor Company

Incorporated in 1997, Belloso Motor Company has been developing and prototyping automobiles with improved fuel efficiency, high performance and low cost. Pioneering in Dual-Engine Technology, it uses a small cruiser engine for maximum fuel economy, and uses an auxiliary "accelerator" engine to add power for acceleration instead of the battery-driven electric motor used in hybrid vehicles. Protected by patents, this technology reduces the cost and weight of the vehicle and improves performance in comparison to hybrid vehicles.

Our experience in early prototypes inspired us to enter the Progressive Automotive X PRIZE contest to showcase the technology in hopes that it may lead to a viable solution to the problem of the dwindling supply of fossil fuel and the threat of global warming caused by greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

Both vehicles have two engines: a small, fuel-efficient primary "cruiser" engine with which to cruise long distances economically, and a powerful, lightweight auxiliary "accelerator" engine which supplies additional power as needed for acceleration, passing, climbing a grade, etc. The engines are disposed in the front of the vehicle and connected to transmission means to drive the rear wheels. Control, operation, and coordination of the power produced by the engines are achieved in a manner designed to maximize the fuel efficiency and performance of the vehicle using patented innovative DUAL-ENGINE TECHNOLOGY.
